New Delhi (India), 17th March 2023: Days after launching the picture-in-picture feature for iOS users, the Meta-owned social networking service is reportedly launching a new update that will enable users to extract text from images.

According to reports, the tech giant is developing a camera feature that will only be available to iPhone users and will let them copy any text that is flashing on a photo. The upgrade will probably start rolling out to WhatsApp early next month in stages.

According to a story in WABetaInfo, the new update will be applied to the version 23.5.77. Since Apple’s most recent iPhone models already have this feature, there shouldn’t be an issue. This feature, which enables iPhone users to copy any text from a picture or through the iPhone’s camera, was introduced by the Cupertino-based tech behemoth last year.

Users can now also forward audio notes from their chats to status, and voice notes can be recorded for a maximum of 30 seconds. The social network is also testing a different feature that will let users edit a communication that has already been sent.
