Woman dies of alleged negligence at IVF clinic, quack doctor held

Greater Noida, 4 September, 2022: A woman died allegedly as a result of “gross negligence” during treatment at a hospital in Greater Noida run by a ‘doctor’ whose MBBS degree turned out be forged, according to police.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Rajesh S, the fraudulent doctor, Priya Ranjan Thakur, has been detained and an FIR has been filed against him at the Bisrakh Police Station.
The woman was a resident of Indirapuram in Ghaziabad, attended Priya Thakur’s IVF Creation World Centre in Eco Village 2 in Greater Noida on August 19, Officials Stated.
According to officials, she had been visiting the centre for two months for the In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment, a technology-assisted technique of pregnancy.
The woman became ill during the procedure, and her health deteriorated due to a lack of emergency care in the centre, to the point where she went into a coma and had to be transferred to another hospital, they added.
“She became ill during the IVF treatment on August 19 and had to be transferred to another hospital, where she died on August 26,” DCP Rajesh stated. “Thakur, the proprietor of the IVF centre, was detained in connection with the death.”
“Thakur’s medical certificates were validated during the investigation. His MBBS degree from 2005 mentioned Bhupendra Narayan University in Madhepura, Bihar, however it was discovered to be a forgery during verification “stated the official.
