Yuva Halla Bol accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of protecting the corrupt in an unconstitutional manner. The cabinet committee on appointments led by PM Modi regularised the illegal extension by amending rules retrospectively even after concerned officers in the UPSC and Ministry of Law & Justice expressed written objection terming the step unconstitiional.

Addressing the Media, Swaraj India President, Yogendra Yadav said, “Ashim Khurana, an IAS officer from the Gujarat cadre, was in news last year during the nationwide protests over the corruption and paper leaks in the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), the largest recruitment commission in India. Around 2 crore youth of the country dream for a better future through various exams conducted by SSC.”

He further said, “Students were later shocked to know that instead of removing Khurana, the government granted him a one-year extension. This was strictly against the recruitment rules and to avoid legal scrutiny, the government ammended the SSC Chairman Recruitment Rules, legalising & regularising their unlawful orders.”
