46th Edition of IGHF Delhi Fair, Autumn 2018 to be held at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida

Once again, the State of the Art venue India Expo Mart Limited, Greater Noida is all set to host the 46th edition of IGHF Delhi fair Autumn 2018(a fair organized by EPCH). The opening ceremony of this fair will take place on 14th October at 10:30 at Hall No. 9 in the premises of the Expo Mart.

This five-day mega show will be a buyer-to-buyer show organized by Export Promotion Council For Handicrafts under one roof to offer, providing exclusive passage to the buyers with distinctive, fascinating and inspirational products.

Briefing about the event, Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of IEML, said “This fair will give new dimensions to the industry. As this year is the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and he himself was very much connected to this handicraft and handloom, so this year we have dedicated this fare to him and it will be the theme for our fare.”

O P Prahladka said, “This time we will have more than 32000 manufactures and exhibitors from all over the country who will be displaying more than 2000 products. This year we are expecting around 6000 buyers from 110 countries across the globe some of the country will be participating for the first time. We hope this time we will touch 3,500 crore in term of business.

This year focus will be on North Eastern Handicrafts and the mega cluster of Jodhpur that will also the prime attraction of the fair. Apart from first and last day, we will have fashion shows and ramp walk displaying the fashion accessories that will also add glamour to the event. The timing will be 12pm and 3pm for the fashion shows.”

For the first time, for smooth functioning of the mega event, a woman entrepreneur from North East Ms. Jesmina Zeliang, also one of Members of Committee of Administration of EPCH has been nominated as President – Reception Committee- IHGF-Delhi Fair Autumn 2018. While answering a question she quoted that “Indian handicrafts has a soul within themselves it requires the blood, sweet, and tears of an artist to prepare the item and caries a story with themselves.”
