Working style of Greater Noida Police raises question: Investigation team visits late night for day before’s FIR
Everyone right from ranks of DGP to districts SSP speaks very highly of making police people friendly.
Even when UP DGP Sulkhan Singh visited Gautam Buddha Nagar just few days back he stressed on making police friendly and accessible for general public. However the whispers from top don’t seem to have traveled to the bottom of the hierarchy as questions are still being raised on working style of Gautam Buddha Nagar Police.
FIR filed in early morning, Police finds time to visit next day late night:
The case in question pertains to a vehicle theft that has taken place from in front of a house situated in sector Beta-2 of Greater Noida. The vehicle was stolen on Friday, June 16, 2017. The owners discovered the incident in the morning and filed an FIR at Kasna police station on early morning of 17th June. However it was only on the night of Sunday that police reached the house to investigate the matter.
According to complainant Mansi Mahajan a police team arrived around 10:30 PM on Sunday night to investigate the case, when most members of the house were sleeping. They however provided the required information as sought by the police however police team did not bother to collect the CCTV footage from the camera installed in front of the house.
The family says not only the time of visit by the investigative team was little inappropriate but also they seemed to have come to just visit for the formality and didn’t took evidences which might have helped them to move forward in the case.
On Tuesday when the complainant tried to contact SHO of the concerned police station to know about any developments in the case, she couldn’t get a response despite repeated calls.
Examination of CCTV Footage:
Ten News accessed the CCTV footage provided by the family and though it is little unclear due to dark night, it can be seen that two people come on a bike and take away the one parked outside the house. Although due to bad quality of footage the faces or number plate of the bike in which the two thieves came isn’t visible but that’s certainly something that we could determine only after looking at the footage. Reason why police didn’t feel like to even take a look at it can only indicate their disinterest in resolving the case.
Gautam Buddha Nagar police drastically failing to install sense of security
In the last one month itself over a dozen incidents of theft, robbery, murder and rape have made people question the efficiency of Gautam Buddha Nagar police. Both Jewar incident and Amul businessman robbery remain unresolved till date. The district that has wide number of PRV and PCR vehicles witnessed a girl being raped on its roads and being dumped at an area of Greater Noida on early Tuesday evening. Even the house in front of which this bike theft happened is situated right at the corner of one of the busiest intersection of the city namely Authority Golchakkar. Even then thieves dared to perform this robbery at around 10:30PM.
Based on the events of last few weeks, it won’t be an exaggeration to say that it is only the anti-social elements who have most confidence on the patrolling efficiency of Gautam Buddha Nagar police.
