NEA meets Union Minister to demand lower GST rate on Electrical Goods

(11/07/2017) Noida : Noida Entrepreneur Association on Monday met Union Minister Sanotsh Gangwar, Minister of State for Finance and apprised him for their discontent with placing electrical goods in 28% GST slab. NEA has demanded that electrical goods must be placed in 18% slab.

A delegation of businessman from Noida led by Noida Entrepreneurs Association President Vipin Malhan met the Union Minister. The delegation apprised the minister that high GST on necessary electrical goods could ultimately affect the lower income group.

NEA President Vipin Malhan informed that apart from manufacturing industry a higher tax could also affect our sales.

He said, “Be it switches, fans, lights or any other electrical gadget, sales price have shot up with the GST and could adversely affect this key market. We hope the Union government pays heed to our demands because the market would easily perish under high taxation”.

The group also shared their concern about large number of SME’s based in Noida which majorly deal in production of electrical goods. The meeting lasted for around an hour and the minister assured to forward to request for necessary consideration.
