Noida Residents form human chain to protest against neighborhood Garbage Dumpyard

Noida (29/07/2017) : Hundreds of residents from different housing societies of Noida sector-137 today protested against open garbage dumping by Noida authority in the sector. A open dump-yard created by Noida Authority few years back is regularly used to dump most garbage of Noida city. However citizens claim that this is not only a great inconvenience to people but also against NGT Guidelines.
Today afternoon residents of Paramount Ajnara Daffodil, Floraville, Gulshan Vivante, Exotica Fresco, Paras Tierea and Purvanchal Royal Park took part in the protest. By forming a human chain citizens also ensured that garbage dumpers can not access the dumping site for the moment.
The group has now decided to approach NGT in this regard. One aggrieved protestor said, “This dump yard was initially planned to be a temporary arrangement when garbage dumping started here two years back. Now however despite meeting with authority and requesting them to shift garbage dumping to solid waste management plant nothing is happening. We were promised solution in two months 8 month back but nothing has changed. We have no option but to raise our voice and keep fighting the battle”.
