Health Awareness Session on  STROKE  in association with Dr. Reddy’s Foundation for Health Education (DRFHE) and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) on  21st July 2016 at its campus. Dr. Atampreet Singh, Neurologist, Fortis Hospital conducted the session.Prof. (Dr.) S K Bagga, Director, DGI welcomed  Dr. Atampreet Singh with a bouquet. SMILE CLUB Coordinator Ms. Priyanka Upadhyay introduced Dr. Singh to the participants and requested him to deliver his lecture. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Singh said that Stroke is also called “Brain Attack” as the blood flow to an area of brain is cut off due to bleeding or blockage. This can happen to anyone at any time and it can lead to permanent disability and death. He said that Stroke can be Ischemic or Hemorrhagic.Dr. Singh said that a person may lose one or more abilities such as Movement
of body parts, Speech, Vision, Coordination, Balance, Memory and Perception depending upon the area of brain involved. He familiarized with causes and risk factors of Stroke to the participants. He finally discussed about prevention methods. The session ended with the Memento presentation to Dr. Atampreet Singh by Prof. S K Bagga. Prof.  S K Srivastava, DGI NSS Coordinator,  delivered Vote
