Yamuna Authority Probe unearths over 100 acres of erroneously labelled residential land!

Soon after taking charge, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority Chairman Dr. Prabhat Kumar had ordered an inquiry in to alleged anomalies committee in declaring abadi land and dispensing compensation for the same.

A team of senior officials probed the charges and found that there have been gross irregularities in declaring abadi land in atleast three villages of YEIDA region. As per sources around 100 acres of land that could be of around 150 crore worth has been declared as abadi land wrongfully, probably to benefit some influential people. The current probe pertains to land pocket that were acquired in year 2010.

These initial findings may just be the tip of iceberg, as the probe is still on-going and will cover more villages and area in next 2-3 months. The fact-finding committee of Yamuna Authority will submit a report to the government after the culmination of the probe and necessary action may be taken as per government’s directive.

Apart from malicious monetary benefits offered to individuals, the authority is also probing for the suspicious leasing back of abadi lands in the names of non-farmer and non-resident individuals.

As the probe is still on-going the authority officials have denied coming on-record with any findings however anonymous sources reveal that the flouting of norm was to such extent in different cases that the land declared as abadi seven years back had no visible construction even till date.

The villages in which the probe has been conducted so far include Niloni Shahpur, Jaganpur Afzalpur and Dankaur. In coming months the scope of probe will reach to other affected villages as well. As per an estimate 27 more villages will be probed in coming times.
