5,000+ challans issued for violating Covid norms in Gautam Buddh Nagar

In view of rising number of Covid cases, the Gautam Budh Nagar police took stern action, on Thursday, against people who were found violating Covid-19 norms in the district.

The police issued over 5 thousand challans, lodged FIR against 70 people and seized 27 vehicles. In a statement after the announcement of night curfew in the district, Police commissioner Alok Singh had ordered strict action against those who were found violating Covid 19 guidelines. He had asked PCR, foot patrol team and police officers to remain active in all the police station areas. Announcements are now constantly being made regarding Covid 19 guidelines, social distancing, masks and night curfew.

 

As per the data shared by the Gautam Budh Nagar police spokesperson, “3,364 persons who were found roaming in public places without masks were fined and Rs 3,36,400 were collected from them, while 1,685 vehicles were fined and Rs 1,99,900 mitigation fee has been collected. Apart from this, 27 vehicles have also been seized,” He said.
