Sulkhan Singh, Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh today visited Gautam Buddha Nagar and answered queries pertaining to different issues of the region.
On a question of Builder-Buyer tussle that has been a glaring issue in the district he said,”If there is a breach of agreement such as builder promised something and he isn’t giving that in the said amount then only an FIR can be filed. However most issues that are brought forward by buyers are actually civil issues and they need to go to the court for the same. Police has its own limitations and IPC charges cannot be framed in violation of the set rules. Hence people need to understand this clearly”.
On Leaves to Police Officers:
Clarifying on allegations of police being overworked in the region he said,”24 hour rest is given every week to the police personnel’s. When they do continuous of day-night then also a complete rest of one day and night is given to them. This has been a provision since past many years. I acknowledge that sometimes things cannot be followed in totality but necessary instructions have been given to concerned officers to provide adequate rest to officers”.
He also said that police department gets casual leave of 30 days which is much more than 14 days as given to most other departments.
On the recent case of money being demanded from an accident victim by Dial 100 police officer he said,
“Dial 100 is an emergency service and it will be used to its best capability. I am happy that accused police person has been immediately removed from duty. I have also instructed to do the necessary investigation and ensure strictest punishment to the concerned person within 45 days. Police also needs to improve its behavior and a lot of things will become positive with it.
