After the Authorities plan of making the city free of road side vendors not yielding desired results, now NMRC once again have taken the lead on the initiative. NMRC will re-start the scheme on its own ways as part of which it will setup kiosk on the stations falling on the Aqua metro line between Noida and Greater Noida. Bus stop of NMRC will also have dedicated kiosks to serve commuters. A survey for the same has all ready been started and the scheme will be rolled out as soon as necessary formalities are completed.
The kiosks are proposed to be of two kinds. First one will be permanently placed at a place and the other type would be moveable. This will also be helpful in keeping the stations clean as well as bring more revenue to the NMRC.
Earlier authority also tried to implement this and survey was also been but because of some reason the plan was dropped and the allotted land was turned into vending zone. As the Authority and the NMRC are two different bodies so authority will not have to do anything with this policy.
For now surveys are going for deciding the number of kiosks at each stations. For Bus stops NMRC will have to take permission from authority only after that kiosk will be placed. In the first phase kiosk will be setup at one metro station as a part of trial.
Kiosk will be allotted through lucky draw. This scheme will very beneficial for the commuters as they will easily get quality food items. As the kiosk area will be allotted to a particular owner so he will be responsible for keeping the area clean.
