Married woman tortured and raped by husband’s relatives, Police Delays Investigation

Greater Noida (21/12/2018) : A young married woman aged 24 years was forced to leave her house after she got tortured and raped by her brother in-law. Her husband family is demanding money from her family and when she refused, they tortured and raped her.

The Victim Named Kajal asked for help by contacting police dial and left from her in-laws house along with her minor son. After returning to her parents home in Village JhunJhuni in Meerut district, the woman approached the local police asked to take legal action against her in-laws.

After several attempt the victim was successful to file a FIR against her in-laws there after a case was registered on 8th December this year. But yet police haven’t taken any action nor had started any probe into the matter. The women also alleged that the police is pressurizing her for settlement with her husband.

In her statement the victim woman alleged that her husband and her in-laws forcibly want to acquire the property belonging to her widowed mother in their native village. Her mother has no son. Both the sisters were also married in the same family had resisted all the attempts by their in-laws.

Now the woman’s husbands’ family wants to settle the case by offering some money in exchange for her son. The young woman refuses to give up custody of her minor son and only wishes for a divorce and wants to raise her own son in her village.

The local police however for settling the matter want her to give up her son custody and handover to her in laws in exchange for some money, which she is refusing. She says her brother –in-law deserves punishment for raping and torturing her.
