After a year full of instability, confusion and panic, the MICE industry has started to regain its footing, thanks to the drop in Covid cases in the last 6 months, vaccine rollout and rebound of Indian economy. With it, Greater Noida’s India Expo Mart, a premier exhibition hub, is also set for a recovery with the return of physical exhibitions at the mart in the month of March 2021.

During the last one year, India Expo Mart had resorted to hosting virtual exhibitions or shows amid the pandemic. Many believe that virtual exhibitions or hybrid exhibitions (amalgamation of virtual and physical) are the future of the exhibition industry. However, it is also true that ‘touch and feel’ experience is essential in most of the exhibitions, and therefore, virtual exhibitions can work only as a supplement to the physical exhibitions and not a replacement.

The Mart will be hosting 2 mega physical exhibitions in the month of March, 2021, after almost a year. The first physical exhibition that the mart is going to host is the 4th edition of Indus Food on 20th and 21st March, followed by SATTE during 24th and 26th March.

Indus Food, organized by Trade Promotion Council of India, is the largest of its kind food export promotion event organised in India. It is aimed at promoting India as a strong and reliable exporter of food and beverage products to the world. Indus Food 2021 will promote value addition to India’s agriculture exports and integrate Indian farmers and agricultural products with global value chains.

In its third edition in January 2020, Indus Food featured over 700 Indian food & beverage manufacturers and exporters and hosted over 1300 global buyers from 80 countries. Around 35,000 business meetings were held between Indian exporters and foreign buyers, and US$ 2.1 billion worth of business transactions were finalised, which also hosted large food chains and several government-level delegations.

SATTE, organized by Informa Markets (formerly UBM India), is Asia’s Leading travel and tourism exhibition. The travel and tourism industry has been one of the most severely affected industries by the pandemic, and therefore, SATTE offers a key opportunity for the stakeholders from this industry to conduct business, share knowledge, exchange ideas for the revival and growth of the industry.

Talking about the importance of the travel fraternity meeting physically and doing business face to face at SATTE 2021, one of the exhibitors – Ankush Nijhawan, MD – Nijhawan Group said, “This is a time when all of should come in full force to ensure we are back, it will help us to meet our peers, transact, exchange business, and give confidence to each other that the market will bounce back starting April.”

HAI General Secretary M.P. Bezbaruah said, “SATTE 2021 in March in physical form is a very bold confidence building initiative. Tourism and hospitality industry, devastated by a year where nothing actually happened, will get an opportunity to network and interact at SATTE. Such a network and interaction will give a push to the much awaited revival of the industry.”

“To face the grim reality the industry is facing today, unprecedented solidarity and collective action is the need of the hour,” he added.

To ensure the safety of exhibitors and visitors at SATTE 2021, Informa Markets  has created the ‘AllSecure’ safety standard. These international protocols are based on the broader principles of physical distancing, protect & detect, cleaning & hygiene and detailed Communications on these principles.
