New Delhi, Sep 01, 2023: A 30-year-old man, identified as Vinay Srivastva, was found dead at the family residence of Union Minister Kaushal Kishore in the Begariya Khal area of Lucknow. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, prompting a probe by Lucknow police.
Vinay Srivastva was reportedly a friend of Minister Kaushal Kishore’s son, Vikas Kishore. A licensed pistol was discovered at the scene, registered in Vikas Kishore’s name.
Deputy Commissioner of Police for the south district, Rahul Raj, stated, “An FIR is being registered after a complaint was filed by the deceased’s brother, Vikas Srivastava, who has alleged his brother was murdered.” Srivastva had visible injury marks on his head, raising suspicions of foul play.
The exact sequence of events leading to the alleged murder is under investigation. Initial findings indicate that around six individuals had gathered at the minister’s son’s residence for a late-night gathering. Further details about what transpired are yet to be determined.
Raj mentioned that the police and forensic teams have been deployed to the scene for investigation. CCTV footage is being reviewed to shed light on the incident.
Union Minister Kaushal Kishore, who holds the position of Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, asserted that his son was not present at the house when the incident occurred. He clarified that Vikas Kishore had been in Delhi since Thursday and would return to Lucknow shortly.
