15th Oct, Greater Noida: Sharda University hosted its 8th Convocation Ceremony today at its Greater Noida campus, celebrating the academic achievements of its graduating students. The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Mr. John T. Chambers, Chairman Emeritus of CISCO and Founder & CEO of J2C Ventures, who served as the Chief Guest. The ceremony also welcomed Dr. Mukesh Aghi, President & CEO of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, and Prof. (Dr.) T.G. Sitharam, Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), as Guests of Honour. The ceremony was presided over by P.K. Gupta, Chancellor of Sharda University, who emphasized the significance of this milestone in the students’ academic journeys.
The convocation was not just a formal ceremony but a heartfelt celebration of student accomplishments. Speaking to Ten News, Dr. Saraswati, a proud PhD recipient and Assistant Professor at GNIOT College, expressed her enthusiasm about her experience at Sharda University. “The collaborative environment and exceptional academic support at Sharda make it a fantastic institution for pursuing various fields,” she noted. She also highlighted the university’s remarkable placement record, stating, “Sharda University boasts a 100% placement rate, making it an ideal destination for students seeking successful careers.”
Another PhD holder, Dr. Anjali Mandal, shared her joy about receiving her doctoral degree. “Today, I received my doctoral degree, and I’m overjoyed,” she said, acknowledging her supervisor’s support throughout her academic journey. Reflecting on her decision to choose Sharda University, Dr. Mandal commented, “I opted for Sharda because of its esteemed faculty and the opportunities it offers for skill application.” She fondly remembered her time as a research scholar and teaching assistant, describing it as a unique experience that enriched her life.
A researcher specializing in Organic Chemistry and Blood Cancer expressed gratitude for the enriching experience gained during her four to five years at Sharda University. “Under the guidance of Dr. Nupur Srivastava and Dr. Dhananjay Pendekar, I completed my PhD, contributing to significant advancements in potential drug development for societal benefit,” she stated.
Dr. Rahul Singh, another distinguished alumnus who graduated a decade ago, expressed his pride in earning a PhD in Oral Cancer and Dental Diagnosis. Now heading the Medical Innovation Centre in the UP Government, Dr. Singh credited Sharda University for equipping him with the skills to face challenges. “Sharda prepares you for everything – handling crises, embracing joy, and becoming a well-rounded individual,” he said. He further noted the importance of skill acquisition in their profession, emphasizing, “Our role is to connect people with faith, belief, and love.” He echoed the university’s inspiring tagline, “The world is here; where are you?” reflecting on the impact Sharda University has made on his life and career.
This year’s convocation was a testament to Sharda University’s commitment to academic excellence and its role in shaping the future leaders of tomorrow.
