New Delhi, (3/5/2019): In a major setback to Aam Aadmi Party today, MLA from Gandhi Nagar Anil Kumar Bajpai joined BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections in the capital on May 12. He joined BJP in presence of Vijay Goel and BJP State In-charge Shyam Jaju.

Speaking to media on the joining occasion, Anil Bajpai said that “I’m hurt by lack of respect and slammed Aam Aadmi Party for distracting from the original path they promised to move on when formed the party. The AAP chief use abusive language for his MLA’s and disrespects them in front of party workers. Everyone will see after some time that how many MLA’s are frustrated and wants to leave the party”.

Bajpai had in 2015 Delhi State polls defeated BJP’s Jitendra with a margin of around 7,000 votes. Anil Kumar Bajpai had also contested 2013 State Polls in the national capital on AAP ticket. However, he had to face defeat in 2013. Gandhi Nagar assembly seat on 2013 was won by Congress Arvinder Singh Lovely.

It came a day after BJP Leader and Union Minister Vijay Goel had claimed that at least 14 AAP Lawmakers wants to leave the party and join BJP ahead of the polls.

Vijay Goel said, “AAP in Delhi has gone astray from its main objectives and narratives, hence Lawmakers don’t want to continue with the party anymore”.

His comment come days after AAP on May 1 alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi is indulging in ‘Horse-trading’ and claimed that its 7 Lawmakers has been offered Rs 10 crore each to join BJP ahead of the elections in the capital.
