AICTE approved Four Week Faculty Development Program (FDP) being conducted at Dronacharya

IIT Bombay is conducting an AICTE approved Four Week Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Use of ICT in Education for Online and Blended Learning”. The FDP is being conducted under the National Mission on Education through ICT (MHRD, Govt. of India) at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. It is intended for teachers in Higher Education Institutions of India. Besides Faculty from Dronacharya, this FDP at is being attended by faculty from different Universities and Colleges including AMITY University, Sharda University, Delhi Technical Campus, ACCMAN Institute, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya- Haridwar, Bharat Institute – Meerut, etc.

The FDP is primarily designed as a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) and will continue till 10th July 2016.  It will have the following 3 components:

  1. Online work by individual participants
  2. Face-to-Face interaction
  3. Team assignment

 

The Face-to-Face sessions of the FDP will be conducted on 3 weekends: 14, 15 May; 4, 5 June; and 25, 26 June 2016 at Dronacharya.

InaUgurating the FDP, Prof.D.B.Phatak, IIT Bombay said that 200 top performing participants of this FDP, will be given an SAP Fellowship Award of Rs. 5000 each. Further, these top performers will also be offered an opportunity to participate as associate faculty for conducting such FDP in future.

Besides, Prof. Deepak B. Phatak, first day’s session was conducted by Prof. Sridhar Iyer, Dept. of CSE, IIT Bombay, Prof. Uday N. Gaitonde, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bombay and Prof. Sahana Murthy, Education Technology, IIT Bombay on Reinforcing Ideas of Flipped Classroom, Lesson Design through Acivity Constructors and Lab Session.
