Akhil Bharatiya Rajya Sarkari Karamchari Federation holds massive sit-in in national capital, demands OPS

New Delhi: Akhil Bharatiya Rajya Sarkari Karamchari Federation (AIRSKF) holds massive sit-in in national capital on Thursday demanding the Implementation of Old Pension Scheme.



The protest was joined by thousands of government employees hailing from several states of India.

In the national capital, this month severel protests were observed including railway employees, bank employees and teachers against the same issue but unfortunately they went back empty handed.

According to the government employees, “we spend a major part of our life (35-40 years) in service of the government and every employees has the right to live respected life which is mentioned in our constitution but the governments are under pressure of financial institutions like World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) is ending the pension schemes. After January 1,2004 National Pension Scheme (NPF) was implemented among employees serving in the state and centre.”

The protestors claimed that if a person is elected as a corporator, lawmaker or parliamentarian, they are eligible for pension even if that person has assumed office only for a day.

The protesters used slogans such as “NPS GO BACK, OPS COME BACK” to grab the attention of the central government.

Apart from pension issues, the AIRSKF demands permanent job for the employees working on ad-hoc basis and demands equal salary for equal work.
