Another Setback to RJD, Girinath Singh joins BJP

New Delhi: After the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief in Jharkhand Annapurna Devi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, giving another setback to RJD, Party leader Girinath Singh today joined BJP in presence of Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.



Earlier, in a press conference, Girinath shared the news of his resignation from the primary party membership. The leader indicated that he would continue to be active in social and political activities in the future.

Last week, two former Lok Sabha candidates of the JVM (P), Prabhat Bhuyian from Palamu and Nilam Devi from Chatra, also joined the BJP.

The BJP in Jharkhand has so far declared candidates on 10 Lok Sabha Seats out of the total 14 Seats of the state.

Elections in Jharkhand will take place across four phases (IV, V, VI, VIII). In the first phases 3 constituencies, namely, Chatra, Lohardaga and Palamu will vote on April 29. The 5th phase will take place across 4 seats in the state from which 14 Member of Parliaments goes to the Lower House.
