BIMTECH Opens Doors to New Batch with Inspirational Commencement Day Programme

Greater Noida, 2nd July 2024: The Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), one of India’s premier business schools, has officially commenced its 2024-26 academic session. Welcoming over 480 new students, the institution continues its legacy of providing top-tier management education through its four distinguished two-year full-time programs: PGDM, PGDM (International Business), PGDM (Insurance Business Management), and PGDM (Retail Management).

The 37th Commencement Day Programme, marking the beginning of the new academic year, was a grand event graced by esteemed guests. Dr. Abhishek Tiwary, Senior Vice President & Global Head – HR (BPS) at Tech Mahindra Ltd. and the Global HR Head (designate) at KPMG Delivery Network (KDN), served as the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour was Maj. Gen. Rajesh Kumar Jha, AVSM (Retd.), Director (Personnel) at NEEPCO Ltd. The event was also attended by Dr. Prabina Rajib, Director of BIMTECH, and Dr. Pankaj Priya, Deputy Director and Dean of Academics at BIMTECH.

During the ceremony, Dr. Prabina Rajib introduced the new batch, emphasizing BIMTECH’s commitment to excellence and innovation. “It is a proud moment for us to witness this ambitious group of diverse students embark on a transformative journey with us. Future business leaders will need to be adept with technology and demonstrate adaptability and creativity. We are investing in both hard and soft infrastructure to provide our students with every opportunity. We have recently revised our curriculum to include significant experiential learning components and have signed an MoU with Singapore University. We are also in discussions with a US-based company to start a center of excellence in blockchain and with Bloomberg to set up a Finance Lab,” Dr. Rajib said.

Dr. Abhishek Tiwary offered words of wisdom to the new students, encouraging them to focus on core skills, embrace data and technology, and ask quality questions. “The road ahead is exhilarating and demanding. Get out of your comfort zones, build networks, and enjoy the process. Be bold, be curious, and be the change-makers the world needs,” he advised.

Maj. Gen. Rajesh Kumar Jha, in his commencement speech, emphasized the importance of authenticity and adaptability in leadership. “Everything is a workplace, and each one of you is a leader. Success will not come to your doorstep. Do not despair in the face of failure. Embrace humility and remember the sacrifices and contributions of your parents,” he said.

The new academic session at BIMTECH also highlighted a balanced gender distribution and representation from various regions across India, showcasing the institute’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. Students hail from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, and Punjab, as well as Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Assam.

BIMTECH’s student body reflects a rich diversity of academic backgrounds, with strong representation from Commerce, Engineering, Science, Humanities, Management, and other fields, underscoring the interdisciplinary nature of the institute’s programs.
