BJP holds silent protest at Jantar Mantar over violence at Amit Shah’s Kolkata roadshow

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today demonstrated a silent protest against violence in BJP President Amit Shah’s roadshow in West Bengal’s Kolkata on Tuesday. Union Ministers Harsh Vardhan, Jitendra Singh, Vijay Goel and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were present at the demonstration. The protest took place at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.


Shah also held a press conference and blamed Trinamool Congress over the violence in the state. A BJP delegation is also scheduled to meet Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding yesterday’s occurrence during the election campaign of Amit Shah.

During the protest BJP workers interacting with Ten News said “Mamata didi is behind the Bengal violence and she is doing this in frustration of her defeat. The way she is not allowing our president to hold rally and road show is totally undemocratic and here we are condemning the same in silent manner”.

During the protest all the BJP leaders and workers remained silent, putting finger on their mouths and holding placards in their quoting, “Save Bengal Save Democracy”.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress leaders will be holding a meeting regarding the violence that took place on Tuesday. “Trinamool Parliamentary team seeks meeting with EC on May 15 in the aftermath of an attack on Bengal’s heritage after Shah’s roadshow in Kolkata.
