Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Committee condemns Congress for choosing Sajjan Kumar’s brother as LS candidate

New Delhi, (20/4/2019): Today, Manjeet Singh Sirsa, General Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee along with other members of DSGMC organized a press conference in New Delhi and criticized the Congress party for ‘likely to be’ choosing Ramesh Kumar brother of Sajjan Kumar as a candidate from one of the LS seat in Delhi.

DSGMC condemned the Congress party for giving Ramesh Kumar a place in the party despite that he is the brother of the main accused in 1984 Sikh riots and is serving a life imprisonment sentenced in 2018.

Manjeet Singh Sirsa, while addressing the media said, “the Congress party is the supporter of the killers. We can never forget what happened in 1984, how badly our Sikh brothers were treated and brutally killed. Husbands, young boys were killed in front of their wives and mothers, and the Congress is the supporter of the people responsible for that massacre”.

“Sajjan Kumar is the main culprit of the 1984 riots and Congress party is rewarding him by giving ticket to his brother. They are giving him award for killing thousands of innocent Sikhs. We are happy with NDA government, who reopened the case and sent him to jail. We appeal to our Sikh brothers to boycott Congress if the candidature is not taken back from him and Congress does not drop this idea of choosing him”.

“We also our Sikh leaders Navjot Singh Sidhhu, Captain Amrinder Singh to support us and take a stand to show some respect to the innocent people killed back then”.

However, Ramesh Kumar does not have any criminal case registered against him and maintains a clean image.
