Dr Ashok Dhoble gets elected to the FDI Council at the elections held at the 102nd Annual World Dental Congress of the FDI World Dental Federation

New Delhi, 13th Sept,2014 :Dr Ashok Dhoble, has been elected to the FDI Council at the elections held here at the 102nd Annual World Dental Congress of the FDI World Dental Federation. He is the first Indian to have got elected to the FDI Council from the Asia Pacific Region. His wide and vast experience of serving in the field of Oral Health should stand him in good stead in serving the global community and help FDI in securing the goal of leading the world to optimal oral health.

About Dr Ashok Dhoble, Hon Secretary General of Indian Dental Association

Dr Ashok Dhoble, currently the Hon Secretary General of Indian Dental Association, is a renowned Orthodontist by profession. Oral health is very dear to his heart and he is committed to attaining optimal oral health for all in the country. He has been instrumental in promoting several health initiatives like oral cancer foundation, national oral cancer registry, tobacco intervention initiative, child dental centre, national oral health programme, etc., to name only a few. He has been associated with teaching and had the distinction of being an Advisor to the Government of Maharashtra, Department of Public Health & Medical Education. He was also Hon. Research Orthodontist in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Grant Medical College, J. J. Group of Hospitals. He has been working for the improvement of oral health in the country and to create greater awareness of its link with general health.
