EPCH confers Awards for Best Display on last day of IHGF Delhi Fair 2023

Greater Noida/ Delhi NCR – 16th October 2023 – “The 56th edition of IHGF-DELHI FAIR – AUTUMN and DELHI FAIR FURNITURE 2023 held concurrently from 12th to 16th October 2023 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida Expressway concluded today. The full splendour fair with over 3000 exhibitors and 14 display categories received increased patronage of overseas buyers, buying houses, buying agents and domestic volume buyers. The show saw field days with buyers from almost all of India’s export markets over the world besides new and emergent ones. Several new contacts were made and old ones renewed, product lines from new suppliers and innovations from regular vendors were considered, some orders have wrapped up and some have been noted for finalizing amidst post-show follow-ups,” Mr. Dileep Baid, Chairman, EPCH, informed.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, IEML, said, “with the furniture segment seeing a growing scope and more and more markets overseas expanding their home & lifestyle products sourcing from India, the Delhi Fair -Furniture also saw busy days. To cater to this segment of buyers and be able to offer larger display spaces to the exhibitors, EPCH launched this exclusive trade appointment under the IHGF Delhi Fair branding, this year. A favourable buyer as well as industry response was observed to this initiative.”

Buyer David Cancelas, from Spain who deals with popular chain restaurants for their interiors, is here to source restaurant furniture to suit various themes. “I have been visiting this fair for over twenty years and am looking for metal chairs and tables for our restaurants. I have found a few and I admire. I really like how the fair has developed over the last two decades,” he has shared. Another buyer, Susan from USA said, “I come to India every 6 months to renew my stock through each edition of this fair. I am looking for home accessories and gifts for the upcoming holiday season. I think Indian products are magnificent and so far I have found whatever I was looking for – unique, fun, and fascinating products in home accents, garden decor, and gifts.”

Naresh Bothra, President, IHGF Delhi Fair Autumn’23 / Furniture Fair’23 further informed that seminars on various topics of current relevance to the trade were well-attended. He also informed, “The Awards and Recognition for Best Stall Design & Display at IHGF Delhi Fair-Autumn & Delhi Fair-Furniture 2023 were given away in 14 categories (LIST OF AWARDEES ALONGWITH PHOTOS) at a Valedictory Ceremony held today at the India Expo Centre. The occasion was graced by Mr. Dileep Baid, Chairman, EPCH; Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, IEML; Dr. Neeraj Khanna, Vice Chairman, EPCH; Mr. Naresh Bothra, President, IHGF Delhi Fair-Autumn and Delhi Fair-Furniture 2023; Mr. S K Goel, Vice President, IHGF Delhi Fair-Autumn and Delhi Fair-Furniture 2023; Members of Committee of Administration, Prominent exporters and Buying representatives and Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH. They felicitated the award winners and congratulated them.”

R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH informed, “We have been humbled by the presence of our esteemed guests and Govt. dignitaries who visited the fair. Smt. Rachna Shah, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India; Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India; Smt. Amrit Raj, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India; Dr. Suresh Kumar Malhotra, Agriculture Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (Dept.of Agriculture. Cooperation & FW), Govt. of  India; Pranjal Yadav, Secretary, MSME & Textile and Khadi Deptt., Govt. of UP; Atul Kumar Singh, Addl. Municipal Commissioner Nagar Nigam, Moradabad; and many others visited. They interacted with the exhibitors and commended them for excellent range of products on display.”

The fair attracted 7390 overseas buyers from 94 countries and buying representatives, as well as domestic volume buyers, resulting in business enquiries worth approximately Rs 3000 crores, said Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH. Buyers came from USA, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, Japan, Korea, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Italy, Canada, South Africa, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, and many more,” he further added.

Export Promotion Council for the Handicrafts is a nodal organization for promotion of exports of handicrafts from the Country and create brand image of magic of the gifted hands of millions of artisans and crafts persons engaged in production of home, lifestyle, textiles, furniture, and fashion jewellery & accessories in craft clusters of the Country. The overall Handicrafts exports during the year 2022-23 was Rs. 30,019.24 Crores (US $ 3,728.47 Million) informed Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director EPCH.
