Former twitter employees including ex-CEO Parag Agrawal file Lawsuit against company over pending dues

New Delhi (India), 11th April 2023: Parag Agrawal, a former CEO of Twitter of Indian descent, Vijaya Gadde, a former general counsel, and Ned Segal, a former chief financial officer, have filed lawsuits against Elon Musk’s Twitter for unpaid legal expenses totalling more than $1 million.

Musk informed Agrawal, Gadde, and Segal that their employment with the firm had been terminated in October of last year when had taken control of the microblogging site.

In the most recent lawsuit, the three claimed that Twitter owes them more than $1 million in legal fees they incurred while working with Twitter. As they had to respond to inquiries from the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in various hearings. The lawsuit was filed in the Delaware Chancery Court in the US.

While still employed at Twitter, Agrawal and Segal were listed as defendants in the Securities Class Action in September.

The three incurred significant costs, including but not limited to attorneys fees and costs, in connection with several proceedings. The lawsuit said that the plaintiffs are parties due to their prior positions as Twitter officers, and as a result, “are entitled to advancement of those fees and costs.”

These three senior executives reportedly received an exit payment of between $90-100 million when they departed Twitter.

Agrawal was expected to get the greatest payout of over $40 million because of “the entirety of his shares vesting upon his firing,”

Segal was scheduled to collect more than $25 million, while Gadde, Twitter’s former top legal officer, was due to make more than $13 million.
