Galgotias University hosts Seminar on Reproductive and Sexual Health of Women

School of Law and School of Nursing collaborated in organizing a seminar on “Reproductive and Sexual Health of Women in NCR Region: Reflections, Issues & Challenges”. This national seminar is a part of the ongoing ICSSR funded research project “A study of reproductive and sexual health of slum dwelling women in India: A case study of Noida-Greater Noida Region”

The seminar was aimed to address critical issues concerning the reproductive and sexual health of women in the National Capital Region (NCR) and provide insights into the challenges and potential solutions. The event was conducted in accordance with the SDG goals set by the University.

The seminar witnessed insightful lectures, engaging discussions, and sharing of best practices by experts and participants. Through collaborative efforts and knowledge exchange, the seminar aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by women in the NCR region regarding reproductive and sexual health. Galgotias University remains committed to promoting social justice and addressing critical societal issues through such collaborative initiatives. The success of the seminar underscores the university’s dedication to fostering academic excellence and societal development.

Under the visionary leadership of our Honorable CEO, Mr. Dhruv Galgotia, and Ms. Aradhana Galgotia, Director Operations, the seminar sought to contribute to the aspirations of social justice by providing a platform for discussions and deliberations on crucial societal issues.

The seminar was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Prof. Dr. Naresh Vats, Dean of the School of Law, and Dr. Lekha Bist, Dean of the School of Nursing. Their expert guidance ensured the success and relevance of the seminar’s discussions.

Dr. Renu Luthra, Advisor to the Chancellor, provided valuable insights and support in coordinating the event. The coordination efforts were further enhanced by Dr. Manasi Sinha, Associate Professor from School of Law and Principal Investigator for the project and Dr. Pratyush Bibhakar, Assistant Professor, School of Liberal Education, and Co-investigator for the project whose dedication ensured the smooth execution of the seminar.

Special guests of honor included Prof. Dr. Manju Chugani, Dean of SHSAH at Jamia Hamdard University, Ms. Rakhi Nagar, Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), and Ms. Sangeeta Rani, Anganwadi Worker (AAW). Their presence and contributions added depth and perspective to the discussions on reproductive and sexual health issues.
