Gautam Buddha University explores possibilities of collaborations and future plans with US Embassy

Gautam Buddha University and the Embassy of the United States of America in India had a meeting on 7th February 2022 to explore possibilities of collaborations and future plans. The meeting was led by Gautam Buddha University’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Ravindra Kr Sinha and Mr. Michael Rosenthal, Director of the North India Office of the Embassy of the United States of America. Co-representatives, namely Ms. Suparna Mukherji, Strategic Content Coordination Specialist, North India Office, Embassy of the United States of America, and Mr. Abhinav Sharma, Assistant Registrar Administration, Gautam Buddha University, hosted and coordinated this meet.

The introductory meeting focused on enhancing U.S.-India relations and understanding essential topics like the current economic and social environments. The meeting had many interesting dialogues over issues ranging from investment climate, business challenges faced during the pandemic times, education, Buddhist studies, and new research opportunities. Mr. Rosenthal received elaborative feedback from Fulbright Scholar Prof. Sinha about the benefits and learnings of the Fulbright-Nehru Scholarship program. Prof. Sinha spoke about his understanding of the university systems around the world and compared Gautam Buddha University with the universities of the United States of America in many aspects, such as land grant institutions.

Mr. Rosenthal was excited to hear about Prof. Sinha’s plans to introduce new courses and establishment of Knowledge and Innovation Clusters for the first time in this region.

Both the dignitaries signed off on a pleasant note, indicating possible collaborations between Gautam Buddha University and the Embassy of the United States of America in the future. Prof. Sinha took charge as Vice Chancellor of the University merely two weeks ago. His grand plans for the University and the skill development sector were much appreciated by all present at the meeting.
