Genesis Global School Inaugurates Centre for Performing Arts ; Collaborates with the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts

Greater Noida: Genesis Global School is ranked #1 in Noida International Day-cum-Boarding School category, by Education World India School Rankings, 2018. Keeping in mind the overall growth of the students, Genesis Global School commissioned the ‘GGS Centre for Performing Arts’ (GGS CPA) in April 2019. To provide them with the best, they have now joined hands with LAMDA, as a private centre for teacher training and offering LAMDA qualifications.

 

The school held an event to introduce the GGS-CPA & the GGS – LAMDA collaboration. The event was attended by top professionals from the Arts like Ms. Ranjana Gauhar (Padmashri Awardee- well known Odissi Dancer), Mr. M K Raina (One of India’s best-known theatre actors and directors), Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Lochan (former Director, National Gallery of Modern Art), Ms. Yuriko Lochan (An Eminent Japanese Artist), Mr. Vivek Mansukhani (Head of the Institute of International Education (IIE) India), Ms. Abha Adams (Renowned Educationist), Mr. Jehan Manekshaw (Founder Director of Theatre Professionals & Co-Founder and Head of School at The Drama School, Mumbai), Ms. Ragini Chander Shekhar (renowned Bharatnatyam exponent) and Shri M V Chander Shekar (well-known Mridangam player). The school seeks to collaborate with people across the arts spectrum to enrich the offering of the CPA, not only for the students but for the larger community in Noida and beyond.

I think it’s a real milestone that we have now completed some of our teacher training with GGS staff so that we can begin to deliver LAMDA examinations to GGS students.”

About – The London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts (LAMDA)

 

Founded in 1861, LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) is a world-leading conservatoire offering exceptional vocational training to actors, stage managers, technicians and directors. In addition to six validated degree programmes, LAMDA offers a Foundation Diploma and a number of validated semester and summer short courses. In February 2019, Sarah Frankcom was appointed LAMDA’s new Director. Frankcom will take up the post in November 2019.

In July 2018, the LAMDA joined the register of Higher Education Providers, a key step towards achieving degree awarding powers. From 2019-20 LAMDA will operate independently from the Conservatoire of Dance and Drama, receiving funding directly from the Office for Students.
