Greater Noida to mark roundabout on Martyrs’ name, proposal to be adopted tomorrow

Greater Noida, 9th September, 2022: In Greater Noida West, a circle will be named honoring martyr Major Rohit Kumar. Major Rohit Kumar, a resident of Ace Housing Society in Greater Noida West, was martyred during a helicopter crash in Jammu and Kashmir.

For the past 1 year, the parents and wife of the Late soldier have been demanding that the roundabout in front of Ace City be named after him. Previously, the authorities had responded that no such policy existed.

However, now following the recommendation of Jewar MLA Thakur Dhirendra Singh, Chief Executive Officer Surendra Singh have decided to bring this proposal before the Authority’s meeting.

On Friday, the authority’s board of directors will assemble in Lucknow, and this proposal may be adopted.

According to Major Rohit Kumar’s family, the district’s MPs, MLAs, and ministers have also written to the Uttar Pradesh government requesting that the roundabout should be named after the martyr.

On 20 May 2022, a letter was sent by the Greater Noida Authority to Industrial Development Joint Secretary Anil Kumar regarding this matter, on which instructions were given to the Industrial Development Department on behalf of the Chief Minister’s Office to ensure action in this matter.

Gautam Budh Nagar MP Dr Mahesh Sharma had also sent a letter to Greater Noida Authority on November 11, 2021.

MLC Narendra Bhati, Srichand Sharma, and Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Surendra Singh Nagar have also put their weight behind the proposal.
