Greater Noida, Thursday 28 July, 2016: I.T.S Engineering College, one of the Premier Institution in the field of Engineering and Management Education organized a guest lecture on “Big Data Analytics” by Mr. Bohitesh Misra.The opening of program was made by welcoming Mr. Bohitesh Misra with a bouquet of flowers by Dr. Ashish Kumar, HOD-CSE, ITS Engineering College, Greater Noida followed by a introductory speech by Ms. Bhumika Pathak, Assistant Professor in CSE department who briefed about Mr. Bohitesh Misra. She told that Mr. Misra is a Technology Consultant and a speaker having rich experience of more than 24 years in IT with a portfolio of technical and management skills and is presently working as an chief technology officer (CTO) at ACOE Global Corporation. He has worked with various multi-nationals like Hewlett Packard, USA, Digital Globalsoft, Compaq Computer Corporation, MothersonSumi Infotech &Designs Ltd and CRIS (Indian Railways). He is also consulting CTO and development partner for start-ups in the e-Commerce, Mobility, SaaS, Cloud Computing, e-Learning, Business Intelligence and Analytics domain.He did his B.Tech in Computer Engineering from GB Pant University in 1991 and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute, USA. His other certifications include Primavera Team Play Certification by Compaq Computers Corp, USA Planning and Managing Projects – by IPSPM. Dr. Bohitesh Misra has successful developed projects for various autonomous and GovernmentOrganizations like Samsung Smart Learning, Center for Railway Information System (CRIS), IndianRailways, All India Radio, IRCTC, NHAI, ICSI, C-DAC, CWG 2010, mobile based e-Learning solution for Teacher-student learning, development and implementation of leading e-commerce Online B2B Travel portal solution (www.tigers-connect.com). He has also been part of development team for Design and development of AC 3-tier coach using state-of- the-art CAD / CAM / CAE / FEA analysis. He has also been involved in development of Data warehouse / BI for leading automotive manufacturing industry like Michelin Tyres (France), Woco Gmbh (Germany) He has publications on risk management, project management in various conferences. His paper “Unigraphics: A tool for productivity in Indian Railways”, was published in 1995. “NDXPERT: An Expert System for Telephone Exchanges in India”, was published in 1991 by Tata McGraw Hill Publications. Mr. Misra started his talk explaining about Big Data Generation or information explosion and its sources /reasons. The he elaborated on properties of Big Data, various Tools and applications of Big data. Being a Consultant working in the area of Big Data Technologies and predictive analysis, he cited various issues and challenges in big data which can be taken up in the Software product development. This was followed by discussion about Learning Analytics and tools for Analytics. He also told the students about various Security concern in Big data and analytics and IoT.Finally, he emphasized on the need of learning various Tools / skills like Hadoop and Python for handling Big Data. The selected B.Tech. 3 rd year students of CSE branch and faculty of I.T.S Engineering College attended the lecture. It was very prestigious for ITS Engineering College to have such a Dignified and very Humble Knowledgeable Gentleman and to grasp his views and technical knowledge.Finally, Dr. Ashish Kumar, HOD-CSE, I.T.S Engineering College gave a Vote of Thanks Speech and Token of Appreciation to Mr. Misra.
