IAYP India educates potential Award Leaders through YES Workshop

The workshop provided thorough knowledge to participants about The Award Programme

New Delhi, October 22, 2016: The International Award for Young People, India organized an Award Leader Training workshop recently at the Award Training Center, New Delhi to guide the potential Award Leaders about the philosophy, framework and functioning of the Award Programme.

Conducted over a period of two days, the workshop witnessed 14 participants from different institutions across India including Homerton Grammar School, Faridabad (Haryana); Saffron City School, Phagwara (Punjab); Lady Bamford Charitable Trust, Ballabhgarh (Haryana); Billabong High International School, Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh); Vidyasagar School, Indore (Madhya Pradesh) and Amity Global School, Noida (Uttar Pradesh).

The workshop began with the ice- breaking session where the participants introduced themselves to the group and what drove them to attend this workshop. This was followed with a brief introduction of the Award, its philosophy, advantages and how the volunteers can play an important role in the Award Programme. The participants were given detailed knowledge regarding the four sections of the Programme i.e. Skills, Service, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journey and also the Residential Project for the Gold level. In addition to that, they were made aware of the risk profiles and its management.

Commenting on the workshop, Bivujit Mukhoty, Programme Manager, IAYP India, said, “The workshop was conducted with the intent to ensure that the potential Award Leaders are thorough with the guidelines and framework of The Award Programme before implementing in their own institutions.”

The workshop delivered by Kapil Bhalla (National Director), Bivujit Mukhoty (Programme Manager) included interactive and fun learning sessions to engross the Award Leaders. The workshop concluded with the presentation of participation certificates to the participants by Kapil Bhalla, National Director of the programme.
