Dhaka (Bangladesh), 26th Oct 2022: On Tuesday, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully rescued 20 Bangladeshi fishermen who were trapped mid-sea as an aftermath of cyclone Sitrang.

The ICG swiftly saved the lives of the fishermen after the Coast Guard Dornier aircraft on a surveillance foray of the post landfall of cyclone SITRANG caught sight of their capsized boats and duly alerted the SAR team.

The ICG had kickstarted its Dornier Aircraft post landfall of Cyclone SITRANG to efficiently clean the area located in close proximity to the coast off Odisha and West Bengal and to offer assistance to mariners affected as a result of the cyclone.
