New Delhi (India), 9th March 2023: Instagram reportedly faced a glitch and went down for thousands of users around the globe in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Users began reporting problems at 6.51 a.m. on March 9, as per Indian Standard Time, according to the outage tracking website downdetector.com.

Around 7.36 a.m., the outage reports reached over 33,000, and the chart peaked at 8.21 a.m., with as many as 43,000+ reports of Instagram being down in the US. The number of outage reports in India and other parts of the world is lower, but they follow the US charts.

At the time of writing, reports of outages were still coming in. The service is working properly for us, but others are still complaining on Twitter.

Twitter hashtag #instagramdown was trending with thousands of memes flooding in expressing their disappointment.

Approximately 81% of users encountered issues while using the Instagram app on their smartphones. Furthermore, 15% had problems with the website, and about 5% had problems logging in.
