New Delhi: People often confuse being a Vegan to the vegetarian way of eating. Those who chose to be Vegans avoid meat, poultry and seafood, just like vegetarians, but they take this a step ahead by also refraining from consuming dairy products like milk, cream and eggs; honey or any product/by-product derived from animal/animal skin. Yes, you heard us dairy products like milk, cream, cheese, butter, dahi are also a no-no for vegans.

Body-painted as a tiger, a zebra, and a giraffe, respectively, three PETA India supporters stiod at CP with signs proclaiming, “Eating Meat Contributes to Species Extinction – Try Vegan,” gathered in Delhi on Tuesday, the day before the International Day of Forests, which was established by the United Nations. PETA India alerted passers-by that raising animals for food is one of the biggest causes of the loss of species-rich habitats, so eating meat can be directly linked to species extinction.

Speaking to Ten News, PETA India Campaign Coordinator Ayushi Sharma Said  “Today, beautiful forests are being destroyed to clear land for animals reared for food and the crops required to feed them. What’s more, the meat industry remains the leading emitter of the greenhouse gases that cause climate change, which negatively affects species’ ability to survive. PETA India’s message for this International Day of Forests is that the best way to save our planet and all those who live on it is to go vegan.”
