Pollution mitigating efforts are better managed by NOIDA Authority : M/o Environment

Greater Noida (06/11/18) : The Noida Authority on Monday carried out extensive sprinkling of water across the city as the air quality index touched the severe category mark. So to cross check all the measures that are taken to curb the pollution Environment Pollution Prevention and Control Authority Chairman Bhure Lal conducted a surprise visit. During his visit he looked satisfied the precautionary measures and said “All NCR cities are taking proper action and following necessary steps now. The situation is quite better than last year but still we require continuous sprinkling of water as for now as still the level pollution is high.” Said Bhure Lal.

on the other hand Ritesh Kumar Singh Joint Secretary. From Ministry of Environment said that pollution mitigating efforts are better in NOIDA than any other cities of NCR Delhi .

The areas that were sprinkled with water included a 45-metre wide road from Rotary Club to SPCA near Sector 94A, the stretch between the irrigation drain and Shiv Nadar School cut in Sector 168 and also on the road from Golden Palm to Sun World in sector 168.

While Anil Singh regional officer UPPCB said “Sprinkling of water is intensified in Noida. The Noida authority is deploying 125 water tankers on every Saturday Which are working in shifts from 7am onwards. Commenting on the same Rajeev Tyagi, General Manager in-charge of work circles 1 to 5 at Noida Authority said “on Independence day we had planted one lakh saplings and now once again we are planning a similar plantation drive this month”.

Residents also pitched in to keep the city air clean over the next few days. Members of the Federation of Noida Resident Welfare Association (FONRWA) carried out pollution awareness rallies and urged residents to boycott crackers.
