New Delhi (29/12/2022): While Rahul Gandhi was marching across Delhi as part of the “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” Congress party had written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing his ministry of offering inadequate security and failing to keep a perimeter around him.
However, in reply to it Government authorities said on Thursday that the security measures for Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra have been completely made in accordance with established rules, despite concerns from Congress the day before.
It should be noted that the CRPF works with state police and other security agencies to coordinate the necessary security measures during the protectee’s trips in accordance with regulations. The MHA has issued warnings based on threat assessments to all parties involved, including the State governments. Every visit also involves Advance Security Liaison (ASL), according to a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) source.
“On December 22,2022, the Delhi leg of the Bharat Jodo Padyatra for the 24th of December, 2022, ASL, which included all stakeholders, was held. All security regulations have been meticulously obeyed, and the Delhi Police has reported that enough security officers have been deployed. When the protectee himself follows the established security criteria, the security measures put in place for him or her function as intended. However, it has been noted Rahul Gandhi has broken established rules numerous times, and this fact has occasionally been shared with him,” according to the source.
“For instance, 113 infractions have been noticed and properly reported since 2020. The protectee may also have broken security rules during the Bharat Jodo Yatra’s Delhi leg, and the CRPF will be addressing this issue separately,” the source said.
