Singer turned Investor Sukhbir Singh talks about his journey in a fireside chat at BIMTECH

Greater Noida, 22/10/19: Renowned Punjabi singer Sukhbir Singer turned up to BIMTECH yesterday to share his journey as a musician and as an investor with the young and dynamic startup entrepreneurs at Atal Incubation Centre at Birla Institute of Management Technology, Greater Noida.

Sukhbir Singh was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, India but moved with his family to Nairobi, Kenya, and was raised there. He began recording in 1991 and moved to Dubai in 1992, where he has been based ever since.

Sukhbir is widely popular for the super hits tracks like ‘Oh ho ho ho’, ‘Gal ban gayi’ and ‘Sauda khara khara’.

The event started with the welcome address by Deputy Director Anupam Verma who gave a brief introduction of Sukhbir and lauded AIC team for bringing him for the chat. He also revealed that the first investment of Sukhbir was into ‘LQI’, a Gurugram based beverage startup which was a part of AIC BIMTECH’s incubation space.

The fireside chat was hosted by a young team member of AIC who begin the chat with asking Sukhbir about his musical journey.

Sukhbir in his reply told about how he came up with the tune of his super hit song ‘Oh ho ho ho’, later on he also shared a funny story of how this bhangra rock song ended up having extremely sad lyrics.

Sukhbir further talked about his journey as an investor and credited his team for all the due diligence they do. He also talked about how he values passion more than the idea itself.

The fireside chat went on for around half an hour and came to an end with few lines of his super hit song ‘Oh ho ho ho’.
