Deep Kalra, Vice Chairman, IAMAI & Chairman and Group CEO, MakeMyTrip.com today shared deep insights about India’s Digital Growth at India Digital Summit 2018.

Addressing a packed audience in a fireside chat session with SheThePeople.Tv founder Shaili Chopra, he said, “In the past years, more and more people are being influenced by Social Media for their travel decisions and we should agree that this is the golden age for digital growth. Reason why people are more travelling now is because of Social Media. Post on social media steers more people to visit same places & enjoy activities which they’ve seen others doing it.”

Talking of future of digital economy he said, “Every development or product today has reached a level where we consider personalization first. It is important to understand the need of people at cater as per their aspirations. It is no more about what you offer, it is about what consumer wants”.

Talking about the roadmap ahead he commented, “In India’s digital ecosystem is not a question of if, it’s a question of when”.

Deep Kalra also revealed the growth story in smaller markets and shared the insights similar to what was quoted by Hotstar CEO Ajit Mohan in yesterday’s session.

He said, “Tier 2 cities are picking up more than Tier 3 and Tier 3 more than Tier 2. Hence Tier 3 is growing the fastest shares.

The wonderful session covered most of the digital roadmap for the trillion dollar economy by 2022.
