New Delhi, (6/5/2019): A press conference by women is being organised today at the Press Club of India in New Delhi, to highlight the challenges being faced by the “aam” janta and to list questions that should have been addressed the Prime Minister.

The interview of the Prime Minister with a Bollywood star while masquerading as “non-political” was in fact an exercise in self promotion in the middle of the election cycle.

It trivialised and completely glazed over the real issues being faced by people and questions related to the failures of his government including issues of unemployment, grand corruption, crony capitalism, rising hate, inflation etc.

In the conference the socialist women including Anjali Bhardwaj, Shabnam Hashmi, Purnima Gupta, Dipta Bhog and discussed and said, that there have been targeted attacks on the constitutional rights of women in India.

The growth of fascist and neo liberal forces in the country and the resulting rise in violence in society has deeply impacted lives of women. An atmosphere of fear and insecurity has been fostered with a steady deterioration in the rule of law and the basic constitutional commitment to equality.

The women also asked 56 question from rhe Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, that “We believe that women, as citizens of India, have a right to get answers to these critical questions”.
