‘Successful companies are built on deep customer insights’ said founder CEO of Info Edge Sanjeev Bikhchandani while addressing a session at ongoing 12th India Digital Summit in New Delhi.

The two day summit has been organized by Internet and Mobile Association of India.

Info Edge has many successful portals including Naukri.com, 99acre.com, shadi.com among others in its purview and Sanjeev Bikhchandani is often tauted to be the Amitabh Bachchan of Indian digital sector.

Sharing his deep insights about building and growing a company, Sanjeev spoke about his journey from being a marketing executive to one of the most successful startup founders in the country.

An alumni of St Stephen’s and IIMA Sanjeev first started his career as a marketing professional for Horlicks, recalling it he says, “After my schooling I had this calling of joining an IIT just because of its brand value. I just wanted to be in IIT club however I became part of Stephen’s club which i considered equally good. After doing my PG I joined Horlicks to do marketing for them, however one day I realised I don’t want to spend my good days selling something like this. I don’t wanted that after 60 when I retire I look back at my life and think that I have excelled at selling a product, Horlicks in my case”.

So it was the thought of doing something big in life is what made Sanjeev venture into world of digital evaluation.

He says, “We did not focus at raising investors money but always stayed customer oriented. I always consider that consumer money is much better than Investors money because in the former you also get a seal of trust from the actual users and the flow continues”.
