Supreme Court’s verdict in Nirbhaya’s case is the victory of law: Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister

New Delhi (05/05/2017): Today in New Delhi, Bar Council of India felicitated Union Minister for Law & Justice and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad for his remarkable job in the Union ministry and also in the field of advocacy. 

Talking about the Nirbhaya verdict at the event,  Ravi Shankar Prasad said that, I am glad  and satisfied that our country still has the criteria  of death penalty for the rarest of rare cases. The investigation in the case and the apex court’s punishment to the   criminals  was the victory of the law of the nation .

He also said that,  It proves that following the guidelines of law, we can definitely stop  offences and punish the offenders. 

Advocacy plays a vital role in providing justice to an individual and curbing the crimes in our nation,  he added.
