Delhi (India), February 14, 2023: The UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, has vowed to do “whatever it takes” to keep the country safe amidst concerns of potential Chinese spy balloons targeting Britain.

This statement was made after the US shot down a fourth flying object over American airspace, which was reportedly part of an ongoing fleet of Chinese espionage balloons. The US also claimed that China has operated a similar fleet targeting several countries, including India.

Following these reports, the UK’s defense secretary has ordered a security review to address the mounting fears. Rishi Sunak further emphasized that the UK has a “quick reaction alert force” that involves Typhoon planes on 24/7 readiness to police the airspace, suggesting that the country is prepared to launch fighter jets to shoot down any potential spy balloons.

While the specifics of national security matters cannot be commented on, the UK government remains in constant contact with its allies and has pledged to take any necessary measures to protect the country from threats.
