Diabetes walk 2014

Uttar Pradesh Diabetes Association (UPDA) marked the world Diabetes Day with a three day event at Gautam Budh Nagar organised by the UPDA team comprising of Dr Amit Gupta, Dr Saurabh Srivastava, Dr Amitesh Aggarwal and many others. The event started on 14th November with a poster competition at Gautam Budh University and Jesus & Mary School in Greater Noida. In the evening, the statue of Lord Buddha at the university was illuminated with blue light as a continuum of IDF campaign of illuminating the major monuments of the world in blue light as a symbolization of Diabetes.

On 15th nov a CME for health care professionals was organised at hotel Park Ascent Noida. About 60 delegates from Gautam Budh Nagar participated in the CME. Dr Anuj Maheshwari, President UPDA, Dr Narsingh Verma, secretary UPDA and Dr Rakesh Prasad, endocrinologist Fortis Hospital, addressed the gathering. The speakers enlightened the audience about the lifestyle, management, and cardiovascular safety of drugs.

On 16th of nov a UPDA Diabetes Walk was organised. About 1500 persons participated in the walk which started from city park Greater Noida. A human circle was formed at Alpha one round about with the participants shouting the slogans of ‘Unite for Diabetes’. The walk ended up again at City Park where the participants were informed about the importance of exercise and dietary habits by the team of doctors mentioned above. The prize distribution for the poster competition was also done. The gathering dispersed with the oath of promoting healthy life style for control of Diabetes.
