Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority

Exploring an alternative to the existing long and cumbersome process of land acquisition, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Thursday invited consultants for defining a framework for a land-pooling policy. Land at present is acquired according to the provisions of the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

The authority has set a deadline of 15 days to submit proposals to the chief executive officer. According to officials, the move follows a spate of farmers’ protests over land acquisition and poor compensation in the district recently.
