Zoom Fires 15% staff including global president in recent Layoffs

New Delhi (India), 7th March 2023: The video conferencing platform Zoom recently laid off 15% of it’s total workforce, in the latest development the company has also fired their President Greg Tomb, without disclosing any specific reason.

Tomb’s contract was abruptly terminated. Last month Zoom had laid off nearly 1300 employees with compromised of 15% of their total task force.

Greg Tomb had joined the wagon with Zoom in June 2022. Within 10 month of his journey, he has been terminated without any probable cause.

Last month Zoom CEO, Eric Yuan, in an email said to his employees, “As the CEO and founder of Zoom, I am accountable for these mistakes and the actions we take today.”

He further said, “To that end, I am reducing my salary for the coming fiscal year by 98 per cent and foregoing my FY23 corporate bonus. Members of my executive leadership team will reduce their base salaries by 20 per cent for the coming fiscal year while also forfeiting their FY23 corporate bonuses.”
