Four held for Rs 60 lakh theft at power station in Delta-I

Gautam Buddh Nagar police has successfully exposed the robbery of goods worth 60 lakh that happened at an under-construction NPCL power station. German-made equipment such as transformers and copper cables were stolen on May 19. The power plant is located in Delta-I sector of Surajpur police station area.

In this case police had arrested four accused and has recovered looted goods worth 40 lakh. While 5 other accused are still absconding. The police is conducting raids in their search. Those arrested have been identified as Chand, Yogesh, Praful and Kamil. Police said they had planned the robbery along with five others, who are yet to be nabbed. All arrested accused hail from near by areas.

SP (Rural) Suniti told that these four miscreants have been arrested near Sakir Golchakkar on the information of informant. Praful Kumar driver of the contractor who is working in the powerhouse turned out to be the master mind of the robbery. The driver had informed a labor contractor Yogesh, about the equipment present in power plant that cost in millions, who plotted the whole conspiracy to steal the equipment with the others.

He gathered the miscreants and made the complete plan. Four security guards were taken hostage on gun point during the robbery . A vehicle with registration number UP16ET4730 —was used for transporting the equipment to a warehouse belonging to Momeen. Police are yet to nab the scrap dealer, Momeen and the other involved in the robbery Manish, Mahendra, Babulal and Sahzaad.
