Noida Fraudsters Dupe Nagpur Lady of 3 Lakh Rupees on pretext of offering Courier Franchise

Three Noida based fraudsters have duped a 29 year old Nagpur lady student of 3 Lakh rupees by offering her a courier franchise. The lady came in contact with the trio through an advertisement on social media in December 2016. After a brief conversation over phone, she later visited their Noida office to get acquainted with the knitty-gritty of courier business.

Nafis Sheikh, is doing post-graduation as skin specialist from a Bengaluru based college and is a resident of Nagpur. She met accused identified as Arvind Gandhi, Romi Dharmaveer and Manish Devsingh in their Noida office. She was interested in taking a franchise of the courier company named “Air Post India Courier and Logistic”. The trio asked her to deposit a caution money of 5 Lakh rupees for opening the business.

She collected the money and revisited Noida to handover the cheque of 3 Lakh rupees. On this visit she was given a confirmation to start with designing the office. Nafis was told that company would soon get back to her to start with the operations.

However one month later when there was no communication from their side, she tried to contact Arvind Gandhi, who had presented himself as the owner of the company. She found the number not in service. Alarmed, she tried contacting other two person but all attempts went in vein.

She again came to Noida to inquire about the issue but found that office which she had visited in past has been closed. On realizing she has been duped she filed a formal complaint at Ladakganj police station of Nagpur.

She is the sole bread earner of her family and expressed deep anguish over the way her entrepreneurial dream met with a shocking end. Nagpur police is currently probing the case and preliminary inquiries have revealed that several other cases against the trio are also registered in Karnataka and UP.
