IPS Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma seems to be leaving no stone un-turned to overhaul the police machinery since after taking charge of Gautam Buddha Nagar district around a fortnight back. From being present during the encounter to making surprise inspection of Police Stations, this dental doctor turned police chief seems to be on a mission to reform things at a rapid pace.

On intervening night of 30-31st march, Noida roads were abuzz with massive movement of police vehicles from all over the city. The siren blazing PCR’s and PRV’s made their way through the empty roads at around 2:30 PM to reach for a destination in Sector-50, after receiving a message on the radio.

What awaited for the police personnel’s at the Sector 50 site was as unexpected as the time of the drill. The Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma was awaiting for the arrival of different police teams. It was later revealed that checking response time of the police parties was the reason behind the drill, which was an innovative idea of incumbent SSP to ensure alertness of his own team.

The SSP also addressed the police personnel’s in this one of its kind late midnight meeting. The instructions were clear, “perform or perish”.

As per a source privy to the midnight drill, SSP has instructed his subordinates to either work hard or leave the district. He is also said to have given clear instructions to all police personals to behave nicely with complainants and treat all cases with utmost sincerity and dedication.
