Sustainable Development Goals Important for India: Kamal Singh, Executive Director, Global Compact Network India

Ten News spoke with Mr. Kamal Singh Executive Director of Global Compact Network India. Here are the excerpts of our talk with him:

 

TN: What is your view on proposal of abolishing PGDM program in India by the government?

KS: They are not going to abolish it but there are moves about making it more industry oriented. We have to come with some creative options through which the dignity of the course needs to be maintained.

 

TN: Do you think that increasing number of sub-standard private organizations is hampering the employability of the students?

KS: Some private institutes need to surely buckle-up in the domain of making their institutes more professional. We need better regulations and strict-enforcement of education laws in the country.



 

TN: What are the projects that Global Compact Network India is currently executing in the country?

KS: In the country we are carrying out various projects. We are focusing on sustainable development goals and it has been approved by United Nations. We are working in tandem with the government as well as private sector to realize these goals.
